Montreal day trip

Yesterday, the entire group went to Montreal and many of us slept on the bus because we’d had to get up early.






When we arrived, we went to see the Biodome, where they had many animals of different ecosystems, and then we went to an observatory where we saw the constellations and the Milky Way.





We went to lunch and we had a little time to shop. Then everyone could choose what they wanted to see in Montreal, so I went to see the Cathedral of Notre Dame. At the end we went back to Ottawa with the bus.

Museum of History and IMAX

In the morning, we had our lessons as usual. We finished watching “Bend it like Beckham”. It is not a good movie. Them we answered some questions about the film and after that we went on our fifteen minutes break.




We did some exercises to improve our speaking and we also wrote some traditions about our countries. In the afternoon we went to the museum of history and we took a quiz about the things in the museum.








We also watched a movie about pandas in the IMAX right inside the museum. After this, some of us went to watch the football match between Argentina and Netherlands. So all in all, it was a good day.

Canoeing

On Tuesday morning we took our lessons as always. We did a lot of speaking exercises with the teacher and with the students from other countries like Italy, France...




We reviewed the idioms and we went on our break for fifteen minutes as usual, and then we watched a movie called "Bend it like Beckham", that tells the story of an Indian girl who wants to play soccer professionally.




At noon, we had our lunch and then we went to a lake, where we rented canoes. We paddled across the lake for 2 hours more or less. It was great but it was also very tiring.



Finally, James, one of our instructors, invited us to eat some nachos in a restaurant with a really nice view of the lake. It was an amazing day!

Laser Tag

On monday, we started the classes at 9:00 am as usual and we did the diary where we spent 20 minutes. We did an activity which consisted of making couples and then one of the persons of the couple had to describe one image to his or her partner and then the other had to draw the picture without seeing it.






After the break, we paired up again and the teacher gave to everybody an object, for example Dani and I received a hanger. With that hanger, we had to write a funny story.


At noon, we had lunch. After the lunch, we caight the bus to go to Fun Haven, where we played a game called laser tag with the group. We played all sorts of different games at Fun Haven!

Peace Tower and the Parliament

On friday, we had a talk about confidence which I thought was really helpful. Most of us don't know each other and that helped us to be more sociable.





Afterwards, we wen to Parliament, it was sunny and we had a very good time. We visited a big tower where you could see most of Ottawa.


When the tour around the Parliament finished, we watched the soccer match between Colombia and Brasil, it was exciting because both team were well matched.

Greek cooking class

Today, we went to classes in the morning and we started by taking some pieces of paper, and saying one thing about us for each piece of paper, so we could know a lot of things about our school mates. After that, the teacher gave us a topis on wich we had to debate.

During the lunch time, we gave Andrea a birthday cake to celebrate her 16th birthday that was last sunday 29th of June, it was delicious! But that, as you will see, was not the only extra food we ate. Happy delayed birthday, Andrea!

In the afternoon, we went to cook greek food, it was so funny! Each one of us made a cookie, which was delicious, and then also a piece of bread, and some salad. We ate it, and it was so nice!

Museum of Science and Technology

Today was the second day of class and they have divided us into two different classes, although groups will not always be. We have presented, we talked about what we did on Canada day, and we discussed a movie.

After lunch, we went to the Canadian Museum of Science and Technology, and we went in a space simulator. We have seen many interesting and amazing things such as titanic's exhibition or Canadian locomotives. After the visit, we went back to school and from there we each went home.
